CMMC-PNW 2026

2-Day Conference

CMMC Got Paused, but Your Obligations Didn’t

On July 13, 2026, the Department of War suspended CMMC Phase II and stood up a 60-day reform task force. A lot of contractors heard “suspended” and stopped. Here is what actually paused: the third-party assessment that would have started verifying your work this November. Here is what did not: the requirement to do the work. If your contracts carry the DFARS 252.204-7012 clause, you are already obligated to implement the NIST 800-171 security controls, and Level 1 self-assessments remain in force.

That distinction, doing the security work versus having someone certify you did it, is where most of the confusion in this industry lives. It is also why the pause is genuinely good news if you have not started: you got time, not a pass.

CMMC-PNW 2026 is two days of plain-English answers from people who actually know: the accreditation body, government contract attorneys, veteran assessors, regional primes, and Navy contracting officers. No vendor spin. You will leave knowing what applies to your company, what it costs, and what to do first.

A $30B Contract Vehicle Is About to Hit our Backyard

The Puget Sound region holds one of the densest concentrations of defense activity on the West Coast, from Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and the submarine base at Bangor to Joint Base Lewis-McChord and Naval Air Station Whidbey Island. Over the next twelve months, that base of work is set to grow sharply. The Navy’s Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program enters solicitation this year, with initial project costs estimated at up to $12.3 billion spanning marine upgrades and repairs, dry dock modernization, infrastructure improvements, and caisson projects. That work flows down to hundreds of regional subcontractors and suppliers.

To bid on it, you have to show CMMC readiness. The opportunity and the requirement are arriving on the same clock, in the same region, at the same time. CMMC-PNW 2026 is built for the DIB companies chasing that pipeline: the primes, the subs who may not yet realize the requirement reaches them, and the people turning compliance into won contracts.
